Please note that a Mediator will not make any decisions on your behalf on how to handle the disputed matter. The role of the mediator is simply to use their knowledge and skill to guide you and facilitate the process so that both spouses can come up with a compromise that they can live with.

If the mediation process is successful, a written settlement agreement is prepared, which both parties will sign. To be legally binding it has to be made into a separation agreement.
